Saturday, May 31st

west side, now hatching mosquitoes in rapid succession. this week was perfect for this since it was warm and murky all week, and you notice a lot growth in the plants, you can see the woods is covered with ferns, many different species, lady fern, interrupted fern, bracken fern, cinnamon fern...and so on, some indicator species that the area is a lowland

I hear: various songbirds vocalizing and the bee pollinating a comfrey flower
I feel: a slight wind and some mosquitoes biting me
I smell: a mixture of soil and chicken manure
I see: what is in these photos, that I took an hour earlier than the past week photos in an attempt to avoid the cool evening and the cloud of mosquitoes that rise once the heat wears off

south side----comfrey planted way before I owned this property and very invasive, the saving grace of it is that bees love to pollinate them all summer and deer love to eat the leaves in the fall
north end-more comfrey, I think the entire west side of the property is comfrey

east side below..we planted the garden today, so the hoses seen are used to water it several times weekly. now that the garden is planted there should be some action in the upcoming photos.
